Learn the basics of
actions, understand them, and learn how to apply them.
Step 1: Start by going
to your actions panel. Window > Actions (ALT + F9)
Step 2: What are actions? Actions allow you to record "actions" and repeat them
with the click of a button, therefore speeding up the process if you had to
repeat this "action" multiple times. I want you now to click the folder icon
near the bottom and name it "Action 01."
Step 3: I want you to now click the "Create new action" icon near the bottom,
leave the default settings for now. You will notice your action is now recording,
so from here on out, no matter what you do, it will record it. Closing documents,
opening documents, resizing, filters, moving layers around, etc...
Step 4: What I use to use actions for was to resize images and create thumbnails
for me, because I had over thousands of photos, but I discovered better software.
So you can use for instance an action to put a filter effect (black and white)
on all of your photos if you wanted, so you would not have to manually open
50 photos and do it yourself.
