Create this Plasma asteroid effect using
a few filters.
Step 1: Open a new document 400x400 pixels , make the bg black.
Step 2: go up to Filter->Render->Lens flare. use my settings.
Step 3: Now Hit Ctrl+Alt+U and use my settings.
Step 4: Duplicate the layer and Hit CTRl+Alt+U again and use my
settings.
Step 5: Now take your elliptical marquee tool and make a curcle
like i have below.
Now Hit Ctrl+Alt+D (Feather) and use my settings.
Hit the delete button two times and you should have something like
this.

Step 6: Duplicate the layer again and go to Filter->Distrot->Schear.
use my settings.
put the blending mode on lighten and merge layers.
Step 7: Duplicate the layer again and hit Ctrl+F (Repeat filter)
then go to Edit->Transform->Flip Horizontal , put the blending mode on Overlay.

Step 8: Duplicate the layer again and go to FItler > Distort > twirl.use
my settings. put the blending mode on lighten. (merge layers)
Step 9: Duplicate the layer and hit Ctrl+Alt+U. use my settings.
put the blending mode on lighten and emrge layers.
