Learn how to create a very cool glowing ball
effect, be creative with this!
Step 1: Start with a new 400x400px document,
fill the background black, and grab your Circular Marquee Tool, and draw a circle
like below.
Step 2: Now grab your brush tool, and choose a 25 - 30px soft brush,
i draw splots all over like below
Step 3: Now deselect (CTRL + D), and duplicate the layer so you
have a total of 2 layers now.
Step 4: Now with the top layer select, go up to Filter->Blur->Radial
Blur (Settings: 50px, Zoom, Good), do this twice total.
Step 5: Now set the blending mode to Lighten.
Step 6: Now merge the layer down by going up to Layer->Merge Down
(CTRL + E). Duplicate the layer again. Radial Blur the new layer twice again.
Step 7: Now set the blending mode to "Pin Light."
Step 8: Merge the layers again, and go up to Image->Adjustments->Hue/Saturation
(CTRL + U). Check the colorize box, and choose any color, I chose orange.
Step 9: Duplicate the layer again (You should now have 2 layers
total). Go up to Filter->Blur->Motion Blur (Settings: 50px, 45 Degrees).
Step 10: Now duplicate the newly blurred layer (You should now have
3 layers total). With the newly duplicated blurred layer on top, go back up
to Motion Blur again (Settings: 50px, -45 Degrees). You should now have
something like below.
Step 11: Set the blending mode to "Screen." Merge the layer down
once now (CTRL + E).
Step 12: Now set the blending mode to "Linear Dodge." Add some text
and your done.
