Learn how to combine two great effects, and create the outcome of an awesome looking fire ball.

Step 1: Start off with a new 400 x 400 px document, press "D" on your keyboard to reset your colors.

Step 2: Filter > Render > Clouds.


Step 3: Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates (Polar to Rectangular).


Step 4: Image > Adjustments > Invert (Ctrl + I).


Step 5: Image > Adjustments > Levels (0, 0.45, 255)


Step 6: Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation (30, 100, 0).


Step 7: Duplicate the layer, set the blending mode to "Soft Light," and merge the layers together (Ctrl + E).


Step 8: Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates (Rectangular to Polar).


Step 9: Duplicate the layer, Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur (15 pixels). Set the blendind mode to "Lighten," and change the Fill to 50%.


Step 10: Last but not least, I created a new layer, and applied a Hyper Symbol Grid effect on top of the image, Set the layers blending mode tot "Color Dodge," and the Fill to 50%.
