Learn how to create a simple yet effective
lightburst effect.
Step 1: Start off by making a 400 x 400 pixel document. Make
sure you make your background black. With that done, go up to Filter -> Render
-> Lens Flare, set the Brightness to 80% and select 105mm Prime. Make sure you
do this twice to get the effect I have below.
Step 2: Now with that done, go up to Filter -> Sketch -> Chrome, set
both settings up to 10 (Maximum). Now head up to Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation,
and use Hue: 0; Saturation: 25; Lightness: 0. And finally go up to Image ->
Adjustments -> Levels, and youll see the white slider towards the right, drag
that down to the left a little to give it some Contrast.
Step 3: Now duplicate the background layer so you have two layers, with
the top layer selected go up to Filter -> Blur -> Radial Blur, use these settings:
Amount: 50; Blur Method: Zoom; Quality: Best, with that done go up to Filter
-> Distort -> Wave, and use the settings below.
Step 4: Now go back up to Image -> Adjustments -> Levels and drag the
right slider to the left again to give it some Contrast. Finally set the blending
mode to Lighten, and boom!
