abstract space background in this tutorials!
Step 1: Start off with a new 1024
x 768 px document. Change your foreground color to "0b2572" and your background
color to "6ab77e." Select the gradient tool, and create a gradient like below. Click here to view the image
Step 2: Now go up to Filter > Render > Lens Flare. Select the movie
prime option, and place one in the top right corner at 150% brightness,
hit ok. Add a few more at 50% brightness, and one at 100% brightness, so you
should have something like below all on the background layer. Click here to view the image
Step 3: Duplicate the layer, and go up to Filter > Distort > Shear.
Tweak it around anyway you would like, this is where you can get creative,
however you shear it, is the major outcome, here is how mine looks! Click here to view the image
Step 4: Go up to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation (Settings: 328,50,0),
and you should now have something like this. Click here to view the image
Step 5: Set the blending mode to "Multiply," and merge the layers together.
Layer > Merge Down. Click here to view the image
Step 6: Duplicate the layer, and go up to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur
(Settings: 10px), and set the blending mode to "Linear Dodge." Merge the
layers together again. Click here to view the image
Step 7: Now create a new layer, and go up to Filter > Render > Clouds,
and go to Image > Adjustments > Levels (CTRL + L), set the middle box setting
from 1.00 to .50, so you get a dark cloud effect. Click here to view the image
Step 8: Set the blending mode to "Color Dodge," and merge the layers
together, you have now learned how to make a basic abstract space background,
add some 3d, touch it up yourself, and your ready to go! Click here to view the image
